My Story

My goal is to live a long, healthy and happy life and to find an affordable way for everyone else to do the same. We are truly living in revolutionary times for healthcare thanks to the advent of digital health technologies. Digital technology can help provide cheaper, faster and more effective solutions for disease prevention, detection and management; transform unsustainable healthcare systems into sustainable ones and equalise the relationship between medical professionals and patients. As part of my mission to make healthcare affordable and accessible to everyone, I founded Ilara Health in Kenya, in 2019. I am also an investor in Expand Health, a holistic health clinic that combines modern medicine and smart technology with a functional, whole body approach that anyone can benefit from.

I believe that only technological advancements, such as those in the field of digital health, can enable a healthcare system to move from a sick care system to a detection and eventually prevention system.

As part of my mission to make healthcare affordable and accessible to everyone, I founded Ilara Health in Kenya, in 2019. Ilara Health

At Ilara Health, we equip a network of small, peri-urban healthcare providers with life-saving and essential diagnostic tools to improve the quality of medical care across sub-Saharan Africa. As informal businesses, these clinics and pharmacies lack access to the traditional financial services typically used by SMEs to support their growth. Through smart financing options, Ilara Health connects these small businesses to revenue generating diagnostic assets that enable them to both develop their business and improve the quality of care they provide to their patients. As of May 2021 we have partnered with over 300 primary care facilities to date and raised over $5.5m in VC funding and grants.

Expand Health

Location: South Africa

Expand Health is a health optimisation and longevity center. Covering every aspect of holistic health – movement, recovery, nutrition, the mind and body – and integrated with innovative science and technology, the focus is on proactive, whole body health. Through a personalised and data driven approach, we aim to put the control back into the hands of the patient — whether it’s cultivating a meditation practice, improving blood biomarkers, sleeping better, tackling a chronic health condition or enhancing recovery.
