About Emilian
I build health-tech companies, and I learned why the hard way. Years of building ventures in difficult emerging markets ended in burnout and a health crisis of my own. Conventional medicine did not have much to offer me, so I went and did the diagnostics myself, read my own biomarkers, and changed how I live.
That is what I work on now. The companies I build sit where AI meets diagnostics and preventative care, so that people stay healthy for more of their lives. Most of the work is in Africa and Europe, with newer projects in the US and Asia. I have an MBA from Columbia and another from London Business School. The people I work with are mostly clinicians and other founders, plus the investors and hospitality operators who back this.
My Mission
I want proactive health to be ordinary. That means building the clinic and the software as one thing, so a person's own numbers actually shape the care they get.
What I Do
Longevity Clinics & Hubs
I design and run longevity clinics that handle the diagnostics, the therapies and the coaching in one place. The hubs are in Cape Town, Bucharest and Nairobi, with new projects starting in the US and Asia.
Health-Tech & AI Systems
At Expand Labs we build AI that turns biomarker data into a protocol a clinician can actually use. Coaches and individuals use it too.

I invest in and advise founders and funds working on health. I also talk and write about what I have learned building in emerging and developed markets.

My Journey as a Founder & Builder
Early Career: Emerging Markets Operator
Co-founding and investing in ventures across Africa, including Ilara Health, a company dedicated to making diagnostics accessible and affordable across the continent. This period was defined by learning to build resilient companies in challenging, high-growth environments.
The Turning Point: From Burnout to Biohacking
A personal health crisis forced a shift in focus. I turned my entrepreneurial drive inward, using deep diagnostics, continuous monitoring, and biohacking to recover from burnout and optimize my own biology. This personal transformation became my professional mission.
Current Focus: Building Longevity Ecosystems
Founding Expand Health, a platform for health optimization and longevity. This includes building a network of tech-enabled clinics, developing AI-driven health protocols at Expand Labs in Romania, and integrating hyper-wellness experiences into hospitality with partners like Compagnie de Phalsbourg in Paris.
